FAQ
CAPTURE SERVICES
What regions do you cover?
Digi 3D Scan covers regions within approximately 100 km of Edmonton, Alberta and Toronto, Ontario. If you need scanning services outside of these regions, we also provide services in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario, but travel fees may apply.
What is the cost?
The price for capturing a property by Digi 3D Scan is determined and presented to you before confirming your scanning appointment. A 50% deposit is required to schedule a scanning appointment with your Scanning Agent. The price for Capture Services is based on three factors: the base price, complexity, and add-ons.
-
The base price is $0.10 per square foot for any industry or space use.
-
The complexity of your space will be factored in. For instance, the amount of equipment or merchandise in your space and the concentration of scans on pipes.
-
Any Add-Ons or Additional Services you select will be added to the cost.

When will I be charged for the service?
Once the scan is complete, we will notify you. The link to the scan will be provide once payment as been processed. Instructions for payment will be provided in the invoice. For scans over 10,000sf, a 50% deposit will be required before we begin to scan.

How will I be charged?
You have the option of payment through E-Transfer or cheque. You will be sent an invoice with payment instructions.

What are the limitations and requirements for scanning a property?
You can only place one order for one property. If you need multiple properties scanned, you must schedule an appointment for each of them.
What size property do you support?
Capture Services can scan single properties up to 50,000 sq ft. If you have a larger property, please contact our Support team.
How long does it take to capture?
The time it takes to capture a property depends on its size. Some properties can take from 4 to 8 hours, while others may take longer. After the property has been scanned, it will take between 24 and 48 hours for the model to process and be uploaded. Large models (over 10,000 sq ft) may take longer to process. We will provide you with an estimated completion time for the capture.
How can I make changes to my appointment?
Please contact your scanning agent.
How will I be notified when my space is ready?
We will notify you by email once the Capture Services technician completes the job. You will receive the model link via email when the scan has been uploaded and is ready to view.

SHARING MY MODEL

Select the Version to Share
You have the option to share three versions of your Matterport space. To access these options, click on "Options." Choose from the following:
-
Branded: This version displays all public details and is the most commonly shared option.
-
Unbranded: This version hides the "Presented By" and contact information.
-
MLS-Ready: This version complies with the rules of MLS (Multiple Listing Service for residential real estate) regarding external links. It removes branding, links in Mattertag™ Posts, and VR.
Sharing on Social Media
To share on social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter:
Copy the Unlisted share link from Matterport Cloud. Paste the link when creating a new post.
Sharing on MLS Sites
Different MLS sites have their own guidelines, but it is generally recommended to use the MLS Compliant version. For most sites, simply paste the share link into the Virtual Tour field.
If you have any questions, contact the website you are trying to post to.

Embedding on Your Website or Blog
Embedding requires knowledge of HTML code. Follow these general steps:
Copy the embed code from Matterport Cloud. Open the HTML code for the post or page where you want to embed. Paste the embed code in the desired location.

SCHEMATIC FLOOR PLANS
What format do Schematic Floor Plans come in?
Each floor in the Floor Plan is delivered in a separate PNG, SVG and PDF format. A Schematic Floor Plan in DWG format can be provided upon request.
Can I request other formats?
A Schematic Floor Plan in DWG format can be provided upon request.
What size are Schematic Floor Plan images?
The default size for each of the PNG files is 2730 (width) x 2048 (height) pixels.
How big can my space be for me to order a Schematic Floor Plan?
We can only deliver single-floor plans that are 25,000 square feet or less. For spaces larger than 25,000 square feet, we will need to divide the space into smaller spaces and you will need to order a floor plan for each smaller space.
Do Schematic Floor Plans include 360 views?
No, Schematic Floor Plans are created only from the scans in your space. Any 360º views in the model are not included.
How accurate are Schematic Floor Plans?
The measurements on the Schematic Floor Plans (linear measurements between opposing walls) are generally accurate to 2% of reality. However, we cannot guarantee this tolerance for all measurements and scanned environments because measurement standards vary depending on the type of property and surrounding locale. It is important to check your regional measuring standards to confirm that your Floor Plan is compliant. Matterport Floor Plans are for illustrative purposes only.
What's the RICS standard?
The RICS standard is a specific set of rules developed for companies globally to ensure consistent methods of measuring assets and property across all organizations. Matterport adheres to these rules when measurements are taken in Showcase, or when you order a Floor Plan.
Can I request Floor Plans in another language?
Currently, Matterport supports only English.
What is the scale for schematic floor plans?
Floor plans are delivered digitally in scalable formats. The .SVG files are infinitely scalable vector files, so they can be printed or formatted to whatever real-world scale you need if you choose to do so. We do not add a real-world scale to the floor plans.
How does Matterport calculate the size of a property?
Matterport Schematic Floor Plans provide an estimated property size based on the floor area of the uploaded model. The Gross Internal Area (GIA) is used to calculate the size, which is determined by measuring the inside perimeter of the property and including all internal areas, except voids or areas with a head height of less than 1.5 meters. The following areas are not included in the Area Calculation (GIA): Balconies and terraces, Garages, Conservatories, Verandas, Gardens, Greenhouses, Patios, and Areas of restricted head height (below 5 feet or 1.5 meters).

BIM FILES
How can I cancel an order?
To cancel an order, please contact our support team. Orders can only be cancelled before work has begun. If work has already started, we will not be able to cancel the order.
What should I do if something is missing from the file?
If something is missing from the file, please contact our support team and provide the space link along with details about what is missing. We will work to get it fixed as soon as possible.
Is it possible to get customizations for my BIM file?
Customizations are not available at this time.
How are the widths of exterior walls determined?
If your model only contains interior scans, it is not possible to determine the width of the exterior walls. As such, we use a standard size for wall thickness. To include wall measurements specific to your space, exterior scans are required so the wall thickness can be calculated.
Do elevations come with the .DWG file?
No, the DWG file is a 2D top-down drawing similar to a floor plan. It does not include elevations.
What is included in the .RVT file for interiors, exteriors, and roofs?
Elevations are always included in the .RVT file. Additionally:
Interiors: Everything that is visible in the point cloud for the requested scope is modelled per LOD 200.
Exteriors: Exteriors are not included in the scope of a BIM file. Plants (including trees), vehicles, and the exterior of the building are not included. However, pathways, railings, front porch stairs, and swimming pools can be included if they are visible in the point cloud.
Roofs: If the roof is visible in the point cloud, simple geometry will be modelled per LOD 200. The geometry of the roof will be modelled best when there are scanning points from the exterior that make the roof visible in the point cloud.
